PRODUCT BASICS
A basic video surveillance package requires cameras connected to a recording source. The two biggest technology advancements in the last couple of years, has been:
- The price of high quality CCD's have plummeted
(the CCD's, or charged coupling device is the single most important element in a camera contributing to the quality of the video)
- The VCR has been replaced with a DVR
Digital Video Recorders digitize video from the camera and store the video on inexpensive hard disk drives. This video, now in digital format, can be viewed on standard PC's, distributed on CD's and DVD's, sent over the internet, etc.
The good news, is that it is now affordable to have a dependable, easy to use, high quality video surveillance system in place.
The questions you need to answer are:
What exactly do you want to watch?
How detailed do you need to see it?
How often will the camera be recording?
What are the lighting conditions?
Then:
Will you need to access the video remotely?
How long do you want to store the video?
You answer those questions and together we can design a video surveillance package to meet your specific requirements. For an onsite needs analysis, please contact us at meet@LibertySurveillance.com
